COMMUNITY  IMPACTS

After-School Youth Programs

We engage in activities like challenging games, arts and crafts sessions, and snacks to contribute significantly to the kids' overall development and enjoyment.

We believe our youth programs offer various benefits such as (1) physical and mental engagement with the challenging games that encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, creativity, and expression,  (2) arts and crafts sessions allow kids to express themselves creatively, social interaction where the kids learn to communicate, cooperate, and share ideas with their peers, (3) snacks not only provide nourishment but also serve as a social time for kids to unwind and connect with their friends.

We strive to provide diverse activities catering to different interests and abilities, continuing to foster a positive environment for the kids to learn, grow, and have fun after school.

Summer Reading

The Summer reading program was consistently embraced by the children, as they eagerly engaged in its activities. These programs not only aided in maintaining their concentration but also invigorated their minds through enjoyable experiences. They acquired fresh knowledge and relished both the books and the shared moments with fellow kids throughout the summer period.

Scholastic Tutoring and Computer Lab

The after-school homework assistance and computer skill development programs greatly benefited the children within these neighborhoods. Youngsters scheduled appointments for in-person, individualized tutoring sessions. Additionally, they found enjoyment in joining collective computer lab gatherings aimed at revisiting subjects they required assistance with. Among these children, Aila stood out as someone who utilized the no-cost tutoring programs and eventually transformed into a volunteer for SEF during her senior year.

Back-To-School Assistance

The Schooling Encouragement Foundation (SEF) is proud of its annual projects - joining other organizations in the area to provide school supplies to kids in affordable communities.  Last year, SEF gave away textbooks to over 130 students in Vietnam and provided school supplies to more than 500 students in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas.

We delivered over 480 backpacks and school supplies to kids in 9 affordable communities this year.

KIDS' SMILES

Don't we love the kid's smile?

Our team voluntarily offers educational activities to the supported affordable housing communities, whether leadership and behavior coaching, art education learning, or enjoyable gaming. We feel good when we see a smile blooming on their faces.

The supporting programs keep them out of the dull moments or perhaps out of trouble after school while they can learn something better in life.

Christmas Gifts Distribution

Donors and Sponsors,

Your generosity is worth the world to our needed communities.  You help us make this holly holiday season full of joy and happiness even though the seriousness of the pandemic is increasingly dangerous to our communities.

We wanted to send a big thanks to AmeriGroup for sponsoring our Christmas events and a heartfelt appreciation to the Good365 organization that connected us with Nike, Eddie Bauer, Garnet Hill, and SKIMS.

With donations from Nike, Skims, and Eddie Bauer, SEF prepared more than 300 gifts to children and seniors of four affordable communities in the Dallas and Fort Worth area.  We distributed the Nike socks, shoes, T-shirts, SKIMS women shapewear, sleepwear, & loungewear, alongside sweatshirts from Eddie Bauer to disabled persons and seniors. We connected the communities with appreciation to the generosity of those companies.  Giving something back to the community is one of the most generous things to do, so we will continue to do so and expand our operations to more disadvantaged communities in the region.

God bless.

It was the right time to distribute cleaning supplies and dry foods to this HUD-assisted community.  As the supply cost increases and a pricy holiday comes up, the residents in this community need some help.

As people scan through, we can see pleasant smiles and appreciative attitudes amongst many elderly and disabled people.

We are seeking more funds to hopefully assist more and more people in need in these communities to prepare for the upcoming winter.

Appreciation emerged at Ironwood Crossing of the Fort Worth community with the help of the Schooling Encouragement Foundation. It is perfect timing to have some nice and warm shirts for the season.

Indeed, we distribute all the Nike assorted shirts and sports jerseys to the resident of this affordable housing community.

As the breeze got stronger and stronger, the residents came to the location searching for the shirt or jerseys that fit them more and more. We have diversity in this community, with 40% of the children and young people are under 25-year-old.

It is a remarkable event that makes every SEF volunteer feel the essence of their work. Incredibly, we appreciate Nike and Good360 for helping make this joy spread to the community needed. Thanks to all SEF's donors for your assistance.

ARKANSAS
Trip of Christmas Distribution

It was a blessing Saturday of December 2021. SEF joined with other organizations to visit three affordable communities in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

There were a number of residents to turn out for the fun event.  We celebrated Christmas early with the neighbors and residents.  There was a lot of food, a lot of funs, and a lot of blessing smiles.

SEF donated more than 200 clothing items from Nike, Skims, and Garnett Hill as Christmas gifts to the children and residents.

We were blessed to witness their happiness and joys.  Karla, a resident at Pine Crossing told us she was really impressed with our clothing gifts.

TRUNK OR TREAT

The last quarter of the year is a sweet season of the year for children.

SEF joined the communities in Dallas/Fort Worth area to participate in several Trunk or Treat events. The kids and families enjoyed the scary music, the sweetness, and the spooky trunks.

We all got a good time.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
